Introducing Anita McBride
-
Music is a
part of my life that I love. It helps to connect me with my Creator in
worship, with myself and the places I've been. Music touches the spirit,
heart, mind and body with its melodies, rhythms and refrains. The music
I sing and compose often has a folk or Celtic flavor. Many songs are taken
from themes and verses in the Bible. Sometimes the words and melody bubble
up quickly and must be caught before they evaporate. Sometimes the music
simmers and I have to wait for the right flavor in a composition. My hope
is that the songs I sing will lift us up and transport our thoughts to
things of beauty and meaning ... to things that draw us closer to one another
and to God. That is my prayer.
My home is Surrey BC in Canada.
The family I love includes Randy, who is my husband and teaching partner,
and our two sons. We live in a little green bungalow with a big backyard
with a cat and dog (no white picket fence ... sorry). My Dad and brother
live right across the street. Our church is Newton Fellowship where we've
enjoyed worshiping with the congregation. I've been playing the guitar
since Junior High School and was singing in my crib. Writing songs started
after learning the guitar and I've been happy to provide lyrics for many
family events. Sometimes I sing or rap for my Science classes but these
rhymes can get pretty corny. If you want to contact me you are welcome
to send an e-mail through the website. I'd be happy to hear from you. May
God bless your life and family.
